In the 2024 Goodwood Health Summit, Mr James Kinross, gastroenterologist at Imperial College London and author of Dark Matter, explained the gut's role and how a healthy mind and body depend on a healthy microbiome. James outlined his focus on protecting the maternal microbiome, how it evolves and therefore influences the future health of infants.
Dr Vicky Sibson is a Public Health Nutritionist and Director of First Steps Nutrition, Vicky outlined the importance of good nutrition from pre-conception to age five and the work she is undertaking around influencing policies and the resources they provide for health workers.

Dr Chris van Tulleken and Professor Louise Kenny discussed the challenges that new parents face in understanding pregnancy and birth decisions and the question of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) in manufactured baby food.
Professor Kenny discussed her work in the field of foetal programming, intergenerational health challenges and infant microbiome and outlined the new birth cohort that she leads; C-GULL a ground breaking study in Liverpool.
Chris also discussed how industry has created an environment that dictates our nutritional and lifestyle choices and how we tackle the right issues and educate at all levels.

At the culmination of the 2024 Goodwood Health Summit, Dr Sian Williams led a Q&A panel session with Mr James Kinross, Dr Sioned Jones, Dr Chris van Tullekan, Professor Louise Kenney alongside Goodwood's Gut Health Programme Lead and Celebrity Nutritionist, Stephanie Moore. The panel was also joined by Gabrielle Palmer, author of 'The Politics of Breastfeeding', who is widely respected as the original campaigner for the promotion and education of the benefits of breastfeeding.
